Willie Faye Mahan

Willie Faye Mahan passed quietly on December 24th. She lived a long and beautiful life—ninety-six years marked by faith, kindness, and love. She was born on September 9, 1929, in Center Ridge, the daughter of Roy V. Thomason and Cleo Evelyn Hill Thomason. Our mother and grandmother loved God with a quiet steadiness that showed itself not in grand words, but in faithful living. She trusted Him, leaned on Him, and reflected His heart in the way she treated others. She was dedicated to reaching out to others with cards, calls, and visits. Her life was all about Christ. She never met a stranger. Wherever she went, she noticed people, engaged them, and made them feel seen and valued. Relationships mattered to her—family, friends, and even those whose names she may never have known for long. Her kindness drew people in, and her presence left them better than she found them. She taught us that faith is not just something you believe, but something you live. It is shown in patience, gentleness, hospitality, and love. Her life was a quiet sermon, and its message was clear: love God, love people, and be faithful in the small things. Today we grieve, but not without hope. We trust that the same God she loved so deeply has now welcomed her home, saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her life was a gift to us, and her legacy will continue in every life she touched. She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Mahan of Rogers and Donnie (Ranell) Mahan of Maumelle; daughter, Karen (Randy) Mahan Murph of Little Rock; five grandchildren, George Bentley, Jr., Kent Mahan, Brian Mahan, Jared Mahan, and Logan Mahan; nine great-grandchildren, Brett Mahan, Rachael Lentz, Dustin Bentley, Morgan Bentley, Aaron Mahan, Sarah Mahan, Caleb Mahan, Caden Mahan, and Jase Mahan; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ellison Bentley and Brooks Bentley. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Mahan; daughter, Anita Mahan Henriksen; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Wolfe Mahan. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, at the Downtown Church of Christ with Bro. George Hulett officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service, at the church.
