Robert "Rob" Murray Hill, Sr.

Robert M. Hill, age 77, of Perryville, departed this life on Monday, August 25, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson's, surrounded by his wife, children, brother, and sister at his home. He was born in Russellville, Arkansas, on September 22, 1947. He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Elise Hill, and his first wife, Shirley Hill. He was a loving husband, father, and Grandad. Rob was a graduate of Arkansas Tech University in 1969. After graduation, he went to work for the Internal Revenue Service and then returned to his hometown of Perryville and opened his own practice as a Certified Public Accountant. Along with his CPA office, he ran his family farm, Hill Farms, alongside his son, Robert, with the help of his grandsons and other businesses that included the whole family. Rob had the mind of a strong businessman which led him into many ventures. He worked at his accounting office, his farm, along with being Co-owner and director of Chart Bank and Perry County Bancshares, prior to its sale. He was co-founder and director of First Community Bank of Conway, a Former Board Member and Chairman of the Arkansas State Bank Department appointed by then Governor Bill Clinton. He is the past chairman of the Perry County Election Commission, member of the American Tree Farmer’s Association, a shareholder of Perry County Industrial Development, a member of the Association of United States Postal Lessors, and a member of the Perryville United Methodist Church. Much of Rob’s time over the years was devoted to the First Electric Cooperative Corporation. He was a member of the First Electric Board, where he served as Chairman of First Electric for nine years and received the Pioneer Award in 2018 for having 35 years of service with the First Electric Co-op. He served as a Board member of Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation from 1995-2018, Board member of Energy Conservation Electric Cooperative Corporation from 1983-2002, and Board member of the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC) from 2013-2019. He is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Laura “Lolly” Hill; loving daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Dr. Jim Price of Temple, Georgia, Kayla and Chad Baker of Benton, Tina Cotham Davis of Pine Bluff; a loving son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jaclyn Hill of Perryville. His precious granddaughters include Allison, Lindsay, Carsyn Price, Blayre Rives, Braydon Crutchfield, Brylee Lane, Kelli Cotham Lowery and McKenzie Davis, his grandsons include Grant (Emily) Rives, Trey Hill, Rush Hill and Kelvin Baker. His adorable great grands include Cooper and Rex Rives with baby Rives coming in October, Ryleigh Dean Crutchfield, Stetson Jones, and Maverick Davis. He will always be loved by his brother, Harold (Kay) Hill, and sister, Jane (Frank) Browne, and a host of nieces and nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, at the Perryville United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Sardin officiating. Burial will be at Perryville Ragsdale Cemetery. Arrangements by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton, Arkansas. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Grant Rives, Trey Hill, Rush Hill, Kelvin Baker, Jody Hibbard, and Sam Putt. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Perryville United Methodist Church.
