Nancy Marie Paladino

Annunciata Maria "Linzy" Lanni Paladino of the Catholic Point community, Center Ridge, was born January 27, 1916, and entered eternal life March 30, 2008. She was a lifelong resident of Conway County and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Linzy was a daughter of the late Natale and Antonia Piedmonte Lanni. She married Thomas Paladino March 5, 1935. They were blessed with 65 years together prior to his death April 13th, 2000. She lived a good, full, virtuous life and blessed her family and friends with her presence. Although her health diminished the last years of her life, she still attended family celebrations, continued to give words of wisdom to her family and caregivers, and presided over her family as their much loved matriarch. Growing up with Italian immigrant parents, she and her family were self taught and worked very hard on the farm. She came to love the earth and to respect its productivity. Mrs. Paladino was an avid gardener. She loved the farm, livestock, crops, cooking, baking, sewing, and taught her children and grandchildren many secrets of her talents, work ethic, and to respect others. She often stormed the heavens with prayers and taught her family with her love and deep faith in God and humankind. Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Rita and Joe Allison; Michael and Earlene Paladino, Nathan and Mary Jean Paladino, all of Center Ridge; Loretta and Bill Jackson of Greenwood; Clara and Tim Garvey of Fort Smith; and Theresa Paladino-Wofford of Morrilton. Grandma Dino's grandchildren and great-grandchildren are the treasures of her long and happy life. Sharing time with them brought a twinkle to her eyes and laughter to her heart. Grandchildren and spouses are: Lisa and Gary Walter, Martina and Rick Hoelzeman, all of Conway; Matthew and Crystal Paladino; Stephen and Melissa Paladino, Angelo Paladino and fianc� Brittany Anderson, all of Center Ridge; Jim and Beth Garvey of Greenwood; Jason and Lizeth Garvey, Jaime Garvey, Tiffany Jackson, all of Fort Smith. "It is into us that the lives of grandparents have gone. It is in us that their history becomes a future." Great-grandchildren are: Alyssa Walter; Jacob and Linzy Hoelzeman; Chase Paladino; Ashley Duvall and fianc� Eric Buster, Alyssia Duvall, Nathaniel Garvey; Bailey, Alexandria, Emily, Cody Paladino, Sean Barnes; and Douglas Natale Paladino. Her surviving siblings are her dear sisters Anne DeSalvo, of Shelby Ohio and Rose Stumbo of Mansfield, Ohio. Linzy , fondly known as "Miss Nancy" leaves precious friends at Morrilton Healthcare Center; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends across many states. Mrs. Paladino felt deep sorrow on the loss of family members who preceded her in death: her parents; her husband, for whom she provided personal care in her home as he struggled with Alzheimers for many years; her brothers Louis, KIA in WWII, Nick, Mike, Jim, and John Lanni; sisters Lena Tesso; Mary Tridico; son-in-law Rick Wofford, and great granddaughter Brooklyn Walter. The family would like to thank all those who made her last years and days comfortable: Dr. Clifford Evans, Dr. Robert Wilkerson, the staff of Morrilton Healthcare Center and St. Anthony's Medical Center. The devotion, care and concern for our mother's health and well-being are deeply appreciated. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Center Ridge, with Reverend John Yates and Reverend Charles Thessing officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Center Ridge, under the direction of Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will visit with friends and relatives Tuesday evening, April 1, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rosary services are at 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers are grandsons, Matthew, Stephen, and Angelo Paladino, Jim and Jason Garvey, Gary Walter, and Rick Hoelzeman. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Church, 343 Catholic Point Road, Center Ridge, AR 72027; or Sacred Heart School, 106 North St. Joseph, Morrilton, AR 72110. The history of our parents is remembered not with rose petals, but in the laughter and tears of our children and our childrens' children. We have loved our mother and shall miss her always.
