Kelly Faron Garrett

Kelly Faron Garrett, age 61, of Plumerville, Arkansas went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024. He was born on March 20th, 1963, in Morrilton, a son of Joyce “Brice” Garrett and the late C.L. Garrett. Kelly attended the Plumerville School system until the schools consolidated in 1980 and then graduated from Morrilton High School in 1981. He was a dedicated employee at the Morrilton Walmart store, retiring last year, where he never missed a day of work in his nearly 42 years of service. For much of that time, he was the Electronics Department Manager and made many lifelong friends at the store. He married the love of his life, Melanie Dawn “Wright” Garrett on June 7th, 1997, and they had two sons, Hunter & Hayden. Kelly took on a new role as a full-time caregiver when Melanie was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma in July of last year. During her 10-month battle with cancer, Kelly never left her side. He was there for every appointment, chemotherapy treatment, and took care of her every need in the most beautiful and loving way. Melanie passed away on May 7th of this year. Kelly was a faithful Christian and a member of the Robinson & Center Church of Christ in Conway, Arkansas. He loved spending time with his family and friends, eating purple hull peas & Reese’s cups, and drinking Mountain Dew. Kelly loved his family and proved that with his every word and deed. Survivors include his mother, Joyce “Brice” Garrett (Marion Poteete) of Plumerville, Arkansas; his two sons, Hunter & Hayden Garrett of Plumerville; one brother, Mark (Kathy) Garrett of Springfield, Arkansas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of dear family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, C.L. Garrett and his wife of almost 27 years, Melanie Garrett. Funeral Services for Kelly will be held on Saturday, June 29th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Harris Chapel with Bro. Steve Norris, Bro. Allan Myers, and Bro. David Riley officiating. Burial will be at Plumerville Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 28th at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Matt Garrett, David Bean, Matt Wright, Jesse Wright, Tim Capps, David Garrett and Randy Simmons. Honorary Pallbearers are current and former employees of Walmart Store #8. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
