Katherine Mobley DeSalvo

Katherine Mobley DeSalvo, 99, of Morrilton, Arkansas, died April 19, 2020. Born on January 20, 1921, she was a lifelong resident of Morrilton, member of Sacred Heart Church, and graduate of Sacred Heart High School in 1939. She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and later was employed by Conway County Hospital. She spent many years volunteering as a Gray Lady at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Sacred Heart School, delivering Meals on Wheels, and helping at the Care Center. On April 7, 1947, she married John Bryce (Bud) Mobley who preceded her in death in 1973. She is survived by her children, Ann Smith of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Susan (Jim) Yeager of Russellville, Ellen Mobley of Conway, and Karen (Gene) Watson of Rolla, Missouri; her grandchildren, Jason and Jeff (Dawn) McCullar, Toby and Andy Yeager, Kelly (Ray) Jones, Melissa, Johnathan, and Josh (Christian) Mobley; great-grandchildren Derek and Taylor McCullar, Keythyn and Ray Jones III, Vivianna Mobley, Marissa, Jacob, and Devin Robinson, Jewel and Joshua Mobley. On December 14, 1991, she married Robert DeSalvo, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2007. She is survived by her step-children Anna Marie (Jimmy) Walker, Becky Lewandowski, Robert (Karen) DeSalvo, Jr., Sandra (Tony Purtle) DeSalvo; step-grandchildren Julie Potts, Heathe (Brenda) Chambers, Keith and Blake DeSalvo; step great-grandchildren Luke and Aniston Potts; She is also survived by several great-great-grandchildren and many special nieces, nephews, and friends whom she cherished. She is preceded in death by her parents Aloys and Margaret Koch Hoelzeman, brothers Bernard, Joseph, and Aloys Hoelzeman, Jr., her sisters Margaret McArthur, Teresa Kaufman, Louise Carruthers, son, John Bryce Mobley, Jr., sons-in-law Ken Smith and Dick Lewandowski, and great-grandson, Damion Sims-Jones. A special thank you to Dr. Lydia Trauth, nurse, Tanya Allen, and Morrilton Medical Center for their care and compassion. A graveside service officiated by Deacon Steve Mallett will be Wednesday, April 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church or Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund.
