Virginia Lynn Beavers

Virginia Lynn Beavers (Jones) also known as “Kitty” by her brothers and sisters and “G.G.” by her grandsons, passed away on May 25th, 2024, after a brief illness. She was born in Morrilton Arkansas on December 31st, 1946, to Wilbur “Short” Jones and Okla M. Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Jewel Dean Woods, Barbara Quick (Gene) Wanda Wilk, Linda Davis (Jim), and Alicia “Lou” Smith (Robert); and brothers, Donald Jones (Judy), Lonnie Jones (Ruby), Gary Jones, and Richard Jones. She is survived by her children, Michael Beavers (Montey) and Michelle Hart (John); grandchildren, Daniel Hart and Samuel Hart; sisters, Sherrye Wilkie (Norman), Karen Dixon (Don), Joan Cooper; and by her brothers, Larry Jones (Beverly) and Ronnie Jones (Jeanie). Virginia spent most of her life in Morrilton close to her family and friends. She was a stay-at-home mom when her children were young, a co-owner in Beavers Drive-In, a Cub Scout den mother, a Walmart employee, and was also able to help care for her father before he passed away. She was a woman of great faith, with Sunday mornings spent in a church pew. She loved being involved in the church community and it was difficult for her when she could no longer attend services. That did not, however, stop her from worship. She read from the bible daily and there were little notes to herself with scripture passages tucked in drawers or on tables throughout her house as reminders of what spoke to her as she read. She was a great example for her children. Virginia raised her children to be independent, and she took great joy in watching her children grow up, have fulfilling careers, marry, and give her grandchildren. Her grandchildren put the spring in her step and kept her on her toes for many years. She was able to attend her youngest grandson’s high school graduation a mere two weeks before her passing. Words are not enough to convey how much she will be missed. There will be a memorial service at 10:00 am Saturday, June 1st followed by visitation at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton 1325 N. Oak St, Morrilton AR 72110.
