Sarah Clark Moose Turney of Little Rock, was born April 3, 1933, and passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. Born in Morrilton, she was the daughter of the late Virginia Irving Moose and George Howard Moose. She was the great-granddaughter of James Miles Moose, co-founder of the town of Morrilton. A long-time resident of Morrilton, she graduated from Morrilton High School and studied music at the University of Central Arkansas. As a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrilton for over fifty years, she was involved in the various music programs at that church. In Little Rock, she sang with the Arkansas Choral Society and was a member of the Little Rock Music Coterie. She was a member of the Thursday Book Club, a charter member of The William Lewis Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and served on the original Conway County Historical Preservation Board. She was a former Trustee of Wildwood Center for the Performing Arts. Traveling extensively, she walked through the tombs of Luxor and from Bombay to the Taj Mahal in Agra, on to Masa Mara National Park for a safari and to Cape Horn through Patagonia to the Antarctica; also, from Dubai to the Cape of Good Hope through Madagascar. She traveled the wine countries of Australia, Chile, and the Rhine Valley of France. She expressed a special love for Venice and frequently traveled with three generations of her family. Clark is survived by two sons, Ralph Edward Turney, Jr. of Conway and Dr. Howard Moose Turney (Jane) of Little Rock; a daughter, Sarah Clark Turney Bailey (Jim) of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Mary Clark Robinson (Tony), Robert Charles Turney, Kristin Michelle Turney Killham (AJ), Howard (Bo) Moose Turney, Jr. and James Austin Bailey; and great grandsons Cade Robinson, Cole Robinson, and Crosby Killham. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph (Bo) Edward Turney and her son, Robert Irving Turney; and brothers, George Howard Moose and Robert Irving Moose. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful caregiver, Elsie Moore, for her constant love and support. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas, followed by a reception.
