Mattie Lou Brown, age 84, of Water Valley, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020. She was born February, 22, 1936 in Tomnolen, Mississippi, a daughter of Joe Henry Story and Birdie Ramage Berryhill. She was the widow of Charles Elbert Brown. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Hughes of Waverly, Kansas; son, Bobby Gene Sullivan of Hammett, California; step daughter, Nancy (Carl) Blair of Plainview, Arkansas, Kimber Lee (Roy) Richardson of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Shella Lindner of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Linda Prine of Greenwood, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren; two brothers, James A. Berryhill and wife, Linda of Havelock, North Carolina and Roger D. Berryhill of Millington, Tennessee; and one sister, Marie Miller and husband, Donald of Water Valley, Mississippi. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Joe Story and sister, Helen Inez Story. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at Cherry Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
