Jareta Lynn Barton

March 29, 1948 - March 11, 2022

Jareta Lynn Barton, age 73, of Perryville, Arkansas passed away Friday, March 11, 2022. She was born March 29, 1948 in Blue Jay, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Leo Doughty and the late Opal Pedigo Doughty. She was a lifelong member of Harmony Baptist Church and worked for over thirty years between the Perry and Pulaski County Court Houses and loved all her family and took wonderful care of them and anyone her family brought into her home. She loved her pets and took in any stray animals who needed her, she loved nature and her beautiful Quachita forest where she lived. Jareta was a true caregiver of all, forgiving, loving and a strong prayer warrior. In the words of a grandson “ She was my moral compass”. She is survived by her children, Howard(Brenda) Barton of Wye Mountain; Billy(Michelle) Barton of Blue Jay; Shelley(Barry) Bull of Perryville; Jeremy Barton of Blue Jay; grandchildren, Josh(Drea) Poteete, Dylan DePriest, Kailey(Aaron) Sanders, Will Barton, Kellar Barton and Everly Barton; great-grandchildren, Charlie Sanders, Ruger Sanders, Ryder Poteete; siblings, Jerry Doughty(Eyvon) of Blue Jay; Dennis (Louise) Doughty of Blue Jay; Sandra Sexton of Verdigris, Oklahoma and Phara Bailey of Blue Jay and many nieces, nephews loved ones and friends. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Everett Sexton, Jr. and E.C. Bailey. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m Saturday, March 19, at Harmony Baptist Church with Bro. Tony Harrison officiating. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.
