James Wesley "Sonny" Gwin

March 8, 1946 - December 23, 2019

James Wesley “Sonny” Gwin, age 73, of Hattieville, Arkansas, passed away at home, Monday, December 23, 2019. He was born March 8, 1946 in Morrilton, Arkansas, a son of Bertie “Bill” Gwin and Alma Lee Clark Gwin. He was retired from Coca Cola. Sonny was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, NRA, a disabled Army Vietnam veteran, wounded warrior, and a contributor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. He loved to fish and hunt. He took great pride in his yard, gardening, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue Cook Gwin; sister, Linda Mason; sisters-in-law, Ann (Jim) Ramsey and Doris Cook; special niece, Kathy Heistand; nephews, Jason Russell and Josh (Sara) Russell; great nieces, Gabriela Russell and Emily Cook; great nephews, Brandon Russell and Ethan Russell; As well as many other nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces that he loved very much. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, father-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and three sisters-in-law. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 26, at Old Hickory Cemetery with Bro. Randall Ramsey officiating.
