Herman Joseph Wellinghoff, age 79, of Houston, AR, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021. He was born June 1, 1942 in Bigelow, AR, a son of Herman H. and Mary Wellinghoff. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Garrett Wellinghoff; two sisters, Anna Marie Goodwin and Mary Frances Wellinghoff; and one brother, Joseph Wellinghoff. He is survived by his wife, Venia Wellinghoff; son, Paul Wellinghoff of Conway; daughter, Ann Sudmeyer of Benton; daughter-in-law, Patty Wellinghoff of Conway; son-in-law, Chad Sudmeyer of Benton; grandsons, Spencer Langston and wife Laura of Wooster and Jordan Langston and wife, Torrie of Dallas, Texas; great grandchildren, Landry Langston of Wooster and Jacob, Caroline, and Shepherd Langston, all of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Elena and Rita Wellinghoff of Little Rock; and brother, George Wellinghoff of Fayetteville. Herman served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war. He was a member of St. Boniface Church and a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School. He was an employee of Green Bay Packaging for over 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and using his backhoe. He was very proud of his three children and loved his wife of nearly 50 years. Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 11, at the St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Thomas Hart officiating. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. with the Rosary following from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, at the church. Pallbearers will be John Strassle, Willie Joe Rempe, John Wellinghoff, Chad Sudmeyer, Jordan Langston, and Spencer Langston.
