Randall W. Blanton

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Randall W. Blanton, 74, of Fayetteville, AR, who departed this life on Saturday, February 15, 2025. A devoted Christian, loving husband, and cherished friend to many, Randall left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him. Born on June 30, 1950, in North Little Rock, AR, to Ailean Conrad Blanton and Louie Blanton, Randall grew up with a deep love for family, faith, and knowledge. He excelled academically, graduating with honors from Scott High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Central Arkansas, where he was an honors student. His dedication to excellence led him to become a CPA and a respected leader in the banking and finance industry. Randall’s distinguished career included roles as an Accounting Supervisor for the State of Arkansas, positions at Worthen Bank of Little Rock and First National Bank of Fayetteville, and many years as CFO of Bank of Fayetteville. His integrity and expertise earned him the respect of colleagues and community leaders alike. Beyond his professional achievements, Randall was deeply committed to service. He served on numerous boards, including Wiggins United Methodist Church, Central United Methodist Church, the Walton Arts Center Foundation, and the Richardson Center, among others. His faith and generosity were the guiding forces of his life. An avid Razorback fan and history buff, Randall found great joy in following Arkansas sports and sharing his vast historical knowledge with others. He will be remembered for his intellect, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Randall is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Betty Newman Blanton; his sisters, Deloris Blanton Edwards and Pamela Blanton Dycus; his brother, David Blanton; and countless friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 24, from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton, AR, followed by graveside services at Wolf Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. A memorial service in Fayetteville will be announced at a later date.
