Maudie Garrett

On October 21, 2023, our beautiful mother, went home to meet up with a daughter, her mom and dad, sisters, and many dear friends that left beforehand. Maudie Garrett, 84, originally from Benton, Arkansas but resided in Morrilton, Arkansas left this world peacefully and gracefully. Maudie held so many titles. She was the baker of the bunch and loved making desserts. Her customers were never disappointed. Maudie loved making everyone smile, whether she was feeding them, being the clown, or loving them. Maudie was still youthful in so many ways. She loved going and staying busy with Bingo, puzzles, girl's trips, and more. Last but not least, Maudie loved her family, and tradition played a big role. She just always wanted the family together. She was a Gran, Great-gran, and Nana. To watch her play with the kiddos was priceless. She let them do almost anything to her whether it involved makeup, sour candy, cool whip, and more. Maudie was a Christian; she loved the Lord greatly. She was such an immaculate and spunky woman that will always be in our hearts. Maudie was preceded in death by her father, Jim Middleton; mother, Edith Middleton; brothers, Carl Middleton, James “Tone” Middleton, and Johnny Middleton; sisters, Minnie Quinn and Lillian Oates; and daughter, Tamma Purtle. She left behind her brother, Jimmy Dale (Vernell) Middleton; sister, Louise Dempsey, both of Perry; son, Greg (Diana) Rankin of Benton; daughters, Tina Rankin of Little Rock, Tanya Notias of Alexander, and Angela (Dwayne) Pritchard of Perry; grandchildren, Aaron (Hannah) McFadden, Ashley (Coty) Dwyer, Shara (Stephanie) Purtle, Blain (Shelley) Purtle, Kenny (Janelle) Billings, Hunter (Taylor) Pritchard, Terry (Haleigh) Pritchard, Tyler (Emma) Purtle, Amber Notias, and Jason Notias; and great-grandchildren, Knox McFadden, Nora Dwyer, Laliah Dwyer, Anna Leigh Waters, Avery Waters, Sara Pritchard, Jonathan Pritchard, Jonathan Purvis, Thea Purtle, Dowen Purtle, Brittany Alexander, Samantha Alexander, Jordyn Purtle, and Carlie Purtle. The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, at the Journey Church with Bro. Danny Barker officiating. A private burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, at the church.
