Marvin Wayne Honeycutt

Marvin Wayne Honeycutt, age 79, of Scotland, Arkansas, passed from this life into eternity on Monday, February 9, 2026. He was born January 1, 1947, in Morrilton, Arkansas, to John Marvin Honeycutt and Martha Janelle Willis. Wayne retired from the paper mill where he worked as an electrician and built lasting friendships with his coworkers, many of whom remained close to him throughout his life. He loved heading out West to hunt elk around Montrose, Colorado, and rarely missed deer season while he was still able to go. Though he always joked that he couldn’t “play the radio,” Wayne deeply loved music and especially enjoyed listening to it at gatherings. Known to many as Papa Wayne, his greatest pride was his family. He never once regretted raising his grandchildren and opening his home and heart to any child in the community who needed help. To him, family was never limited by blood. His love was unconditional, his door always open, and his presence steady and strong. He taught those around him to stand up for what they believe in, to be strong, and to never give up—no matter the circumstances. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Shelia Holyfield Honeycutt; his son, Eric Honeycutt; his step son Anthony Kuettle and his beloved grandchildren, Austin, Colton, Braxton, Gunnison, and Harley. His great granddaughter Denim Avery. His daughter Doreen Pritchard and son Darren Honeycutt were also loved by him no matter the circumstances. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a multitude of children and grown children he proudly claimed as his own—each of whom knows who they are. He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Frankie and Margie; and his cherished granddaughter, Brooklyn Honeycutt, whom he thought of every single day. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, at Harris Chapel, with Mr. Jay Crow officiating. Burial will follow at Halbrook Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Austin Pruitt, Colton Honeycutt, Braxton Honeycutt, Gunnison Honeycutt, Kyle Pruitt, and David Freeman. Honorary Pallbearers include Dustin Williams, Andy Freeman, Dale Birdwell, Ted Ashcraft, Grey Kimbrel, Rommy Acton, and Eric Honeycutt. He loved these people with all his heart.
