Lucille Crawford

Sister Lucille Crawford was born in Cleveland, (Center Community) Arkansas to the late George and Lila Crawford on June 14, 1940. She was proceeded in death by her four sisters Ethel Crawford, Mary Crawford, Aretha (Crawford) Haggens, Lonnie (Crawford) Rainey, Mazell (Crawford) Byers, and one brother C.W. Crawford, she was also proceeded in death by her son Charles Wayne Canady-Crawford. Sister Lucille Crawford joined New Mt Zion AME Zion Church in Cleveland Arkansas and gave her life to Christ at an early age. She one served in many roles in the church, usher, kitchen staff, and choir. also, she served and participated in the Central Arkansas Choir and Quartet Union, in a gospel group she formed with her sister called the Wings of Harmony. She later moved to Morrilton and joined with another church affiliation but afterward, she continued singing and participating in a variety of worship services with other gospel groups (New Voices and Serenity) Sister Lucille Crawford was an entrepreneur and businesswoman and her spirit shone brightly as she managed her own retail wholesale business for over 30 years. She served her community in the capacity of resale products at an affordable price to those who were misfortunate and to others as the need arose. Also, she opened her home to those needing temporary shelter, clothing, or a hot meal. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Last but not least, she was honored on August 19, 2023, by the Center Community Foundation to become an Honorary Member of the CCF and received her flowers as a lifetime member. Sister Lucille Crawford leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life; two daughters, Sharon Canady-McFarlin of Hickory Hill, Arkansas, Tracey (Jarvis) Davis-White of Cleveland, Arkansas, one son, LeeVan Davis of Morrilton, Arkansas Also, she leaves to celebrate her life and memories; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, in-laws, and many close and faithful friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery near Cleveland. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, at the funeral home.
