It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Lane Murphy, born June 18, 2002, to Regan and Amber Murphy — their beloved only child, their greatest joy, and the light of their lives. He went to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at the age of 22. Lane was a rare soul — equal parts kind-hearted and ornery, a loving and loyal presence who brought laughter, mischief, and warmth into every room he entered. With a boundless spirit and a heart always chasing joy, Lane never met a stranger. He had the uncanny ability to lift others with his optimism and unforgettable sense of humor. He was quick with a grin, quicker with a joke, and always ready for the next adventure, no matter how spontaneous or strange. Lane’s life was filled with stories — some hilarious, some wild, all deeply meaningful to those lucky enough to know him. He lived with a freedom most only dream of, unafraid to ramble, to explore, to connect. Whether he was cracking jokes, lighting up a late-night bonfire with friends, or sitting in quiet conversation with someone who needed it most, Lane gave all of himself, always. Above all, Lane loved the Lord. His faith was genuine and present in the way he lived — through kindness, forgiveness, and joy. He didn’t need a stage to share God’s love; he lived it in everyday moments: the way he encouraged others, showed up when it mattered, and brought light into darkness. Lane’s faith was the compass that guided his generous, wandering spirit. Lane is survived by his loving parents, Regan and Amber Murphy, who nurtured him with faith and unconditional love. Their hearts are broken, yet their hope is in Christ — knowing Lane now walks streets of gold, whole and free, laughing in the presence of the One he loved so deeply. Lane was welcomed into eternity by his grandparents—Bob and Virginia Polk, and Murray and Barbara Murphy—who preceded him in death. What a beautiful reunion it must be, filled with joy, cherished memories, and eternal peace. Though he leaves this world far too soon, Lane leaves behind a legacy of love — fierce, bright, and unforgettable. He was very loved — by his family, his friends, and the many lives he touched with his big heart and beautiful spirit. He lived on his own terms. He loved hard. He laughed loud. And oh, how he was loved. Rest easy, Lane. Keep rambling. Lane’s graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12, at the Plummerville Cemetery with Bro. Craig Duncan and Bro. Josh Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Harris Chapel. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers will be Westin Keeton, Ben Drilling, Kaden Shipp, Andrew Shipp, Luke Birdsong, and Matt Birdsong.
