Kenneth Paul Meyer

Kenneth Paul Meyer, age 74, of Center Ridge, Arkansas, passed away in Little Rock on Friday, October 18, 2019. Ken was born January 22, 1945 in East St. Louis, Illinois to August (“Keet”) and Lucille Meyer. Preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra (Krause) Meyer, and their son Kenneth Paul Meyer, Jr. Survived by his wife Sandy (Foster) Meyer; daughter DeAnn (Bill) Roach of Sherwood, daughter-in-law Dona Meyer of Center Ridge, step-daughter Wendy (Chad) Donley of Little Rock, step-son Matthew (Erin) Foster of Rogers; grandchildren Ryan and Emily Roach, Kasey Meyer, Coplea, Callie, Caris, and Cate Donley, and Olivia and Tristan Foster; brother George (MaryNell) Meyer of Quincy, IL; stepmother Judy Meyer and half-sister Karen (David) Siegel of Kissimmee, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Ken graduated from Assumption High School in East St. Louis in 1963, receiving a degree in Chemistry from The University of Dayton before settling in Arkansas. He enjoyed time with his family; game nights with friends; driving around the country; eating lobster, prime rib, and chocolate eclairs; buying orchids for the ladies at Easter; serving as “Mr. Clean” at St. Joseph’s spaghetti suppers; hosting large Fourth of July parties for his community; making homemade Italian sausage every Thanksgiving; square dancing; and sitting in the hot tub at their winter home in Mission, Texas. Ken served for many years with CYM, investing in the lives of Junior and Senior High students. He continued to meet annually with his own eighth grade class at St. Philip’s in East St. Louis as recently as September. Rosary at Harris Funeral Home, Morrillton, 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m Wednesday, October 23, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Center Ridge. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Honorary Pallbearers: Alvin Gentry, Pete Rossi, Don Eller, Paul Eller, Bill Davidson, Ryan Roach, Bill Roach, and Chad Donley. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation in honor of Kasey Meyer or to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
