Jack Thomas Poole

Jack Thomas Poole, age 19, of Hattieville, Arkansas, died on Saturday, August 17, 2024. He was born on January 31, 2005, to Jason and Kris Poole. Jack was all things outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish and wished he could make his living hunting professionally. He was known for cooking and eating what he harvested, including a squirrel and a coyote. Some of Jack’s favorite memories involve hunting with his dad and his older brother, Andrew Poole and his friends. Jack was known for his made fresh guacamole. He could often be heard quoting “Stepbrothers” or “Dumb and Dumber”. And it was fair to say, he lived by the motto “you only live once”. He loved to irritate his sister, Emily (Emilio) Medina and teased her every chance he got. It was a given that he would soon begin to tease his future sister-in-law, Sydney Lubbers. And while he wasn’t a big fan of the baby stage, he loved being an uncle to Emerson and Everett Medina. Jack was a 2023 graduate from Sacred Heart Catholic School and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. After years of abiding by the Catholic school dress code for so many years, Jack was often seen in his favorite raggedy clothes and his hair was as long as his lady friends. His family frequently teased him about his hair. But Jack would give his best smirk and say the ladies loved his luscious locks. Jack was a pre-Nursing major at Arkansas Tech University. Jack was very active in the Kappa Sigma fraternity and loved meeting so many new people. Jack was employed by Cypress Valley Meat Processing. Other than his immediate family, Jack is survived by his grandparents, Stan and Sheila Willis and Freddie Earl Kirtley; aunt Jennifer (Josh) Berkemeyer, uncle Scott (Sumer) Willis, aunt Veronica Kirtley, aunt Jaila (Tony) Kirtley, and cousins Sam and Gabby Berkemeyer and Shane Willis. Jack left a host of great-aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Linda Kirtley. The funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 23 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jack Harris officiating. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Morrilton. Vigil will 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22 at Harris Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., after the Vigil. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School, St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Arkansas Children’s Hospital Heart Center.
