Garry Wayne Coffman

Heaven's gain is our loss. On Monday, December 5, 2022, Garry Wayne Coffman, 68, of Morrilton, AR went to be with the Lord. Garry was met in Heaven by his parents, Farris and Dorothy Coffman, and several of his siblings: his brother Bob Coffman and his wife Bonnie, his brother Vance Coffman and his wife Jeanie and his sister Linda Fields. His brother-in-law Jerry Graves would have shaken his hand and welcomed Garry to his new forever home. Garry was born October 19, 1954, in Morrilton, AR at St. Anthony's Hospital. He lived in Morrilton his entire life and loved his family and his country. He graduated from Morrilton High School then joined his father's farm where they raised cattle together for many years. After his father retired, Garry spent 26 years working at Arkansas Kraft. In 2006, he was recognized for his hard work and dedication by being named employee of the year. About the time he retired from Kraft, Garry was at home when something drew him outside. There on his porch were two malnourished and dirty puppies. The animals had clearly been abandoned and Garry didn't hesitate. He took them in, cleaned them up, and found them something to eat. His plan was to get them healthy and then find them good homes. In the meantime, he started calling them Grace and John, after his grandparents. Before long, Grace and John were healthy enough to be adopted. That's when Garry realized what the puppies had known all along they had already found a good home. Garry will be remembered by those who knew him as a kind and generous person. He was the brother you always wanted or the therapist you didn't know you needed. He spoke his mind but also knew when to be quiet. He had a competitive streak that came out anytime there was a game of Rook or a political debate. He will be missed by many, but most especially by his sisters Betty Coffman and Brenda Graves, his brother-in-law Dennis Fields, his nephew Ray Coffman, his nieces Martha Bostic, Donna Coffman, Leana and her husband David England, Kaylon Bruner-Tran, Ashley Graves, Kristin and her husband Paul Burris, Linda Ludene Coffman and a host of family and friends. Garry's beloved furbabies, Grace and John, will be moving to Mississippi to join the extended canine family of Leana and David England. Garry was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church in Morrilton, and it is there that we will gather to celebrate his life. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10 service to follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Brother Scott McDonald. Arrangements for Garry's services have been entrusted to Harris Funeral Home. Please don't send flowers Garry was too practical for that. If you wish, please make a donation in his name to Calvary Baptist Church or the charity of your choice. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Deaton, Dennis Fields, David England, Paul Burris and David Wilson.
