Ella Mae Jones

Ella Mae "Ma" Jones, 84, of Hattieville, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Saturday night, April 19, 2008, at her home in Hattieville. She was born on August 12, 1923 in Old Hickory to Belvie and Hester Torbert, and was the widow of Ira Jones, married for fifty-seven years. She was a homemaker and dedicated member of Hattieville Baptist Church. Ella Mae lived a Proverbs 31 life, A Godly Woman, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, she loved everyone and everyone was always welcome in her home; she lived to serve others. A verse that describes her is II Timothy 4:7-8. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." Every single day Ella Mae lived a Christian life and raised her family to love and serve God. Ella Mae was preceded in death by her sister, Mable Stout, her daughter-in-law, Linda Jones, and her granddaughter, Shannon Sample. She is survived by two sons, Brigham Jones, Sr. of Hattieville; Clayton Jones and wife Kathy of Conway; three daughters, all of Hattieville, Ella Ruth Fields and husband Russell, Betty Holyfield and husband Bob, and Glenna Schmidt; fifteen grandchildren, Steve Harris and wife Tammy; Mark "Pete" Harris and wife Tina; Brigham Jones Jr. and wife Jennifer; Sondra Clark and husband Kelly; Delayne Holyfield and wife Brandy; Shawn Sample, Mark Love, and Desirae, Clint Love and wife Dana, Clayton Holyfield, and wife Melanie, Karla Evans, and husband Dallas, Penny Chaney, Julie Chaney, Scott Hagans, Patricia Osborn, and husband Charlie. Twenty-one great-grandchildren, Amber Johnson, and husband Chad, Amy Davis, and husband Les, Brandon Harris and Amber, Linda Brents, Erin Clark, Kenneth Jones, Landon Clayton Sample, Lane Wallace, Jude Sample, Tyler Russell, Brady Russell, Alex Love, Parker Love, Chelsey Hickey, Aaron Hickey, Austin Bickham, Alexis Bickham, Braydon Mearns, Carter Osborn, Carlie Osborn, Nick Ferguson; three great-great-grandsons, Brady Johnson, Dylan Johnson, and Eli Harris; one brother, Charles "Toby" Torbert, and wife Lois of Hattieville. Visitation will be at the Harris Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at Hattieville Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Holyfield and Bro. Dwight Scott officiating. Burial will be at Old Hickory Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers will be Ma's grandsons, Steve Harris, Pete Harris, Brigham Jones, Jr., Delayne Holyfield, Shawn Sample, Mark Love, Clayton Holyfield, and Clint Love. Honorary Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, and great-great-grandsons, and her nephews, Bob and Danny Short, Allen, Jeffrey, and Jamie Jones, Greg Baker, and Gary Barton. Memorials may be made to Hattieville Baptist Church.
