Eddy Joe Guinn

Eddy Joe Guinn, 77, of Plumerville passed away on July 28, 2026. He was born on December 28, 1948, in Conway County, the only child of the late Joe Guinn and Edith Guinn. A 1967 graduate of Morrilton High School, he attended Arkansas Tech University and went on to become a master electrician. He was the owner of Guinn Electric in Conway County for over five decades. He attended First Baptist Church in Morrilton. Anyone who knew Eddy could tell you that he never met a stranger. Even after a long day of work, he would often stay and visit with his customers, many of whom he had known since childhood. He was much beloved by his community and customers and for many years his electrical work was considered the gold standard in Conway County. Eddy also understood the value of friendships and quietly helped untold numbers of people throughout the years when he knew there was a need. More importantly, he never missed an opportunity to share his faith with others, often giving out Christian books and materials he had collected over the years. Eddy lived life to the fullest and cherished spending time with his friends. He always seemed to have an interesting story about some past adventure he had survived with a Stobaugh brother or other local troublemakers. In his younger days you might find him riding a particularly mean bull in a rodeo, riding motorcycles in the hills or ATVs on a sandbar at the river. He also spent several years working as an electrician out West in places like Montana, Colorado and the Dakotas. Later in life he and Charlotte found time to travel to Alaska twice as well as vacation in the mountains and other places throughout the U.S. Eddy also spent countless hours helping Charlotte and the entire Harris family create elaborate holiday decoration displays. Eddy is survived by his wife, Charlotte Harris Guinn, with whom he spent over 54 years traveling and sharing adventures. He is also survived by his bonus daughter, Susan Dumas and husband Paul, along with their three (3) sons, Witt Dumas and wife Ashley, Greyson Dumas and James Dumas. Eddy’s three grandsons were the pride of his life and he was fiercely supportive of each of them, passing along words of wisdom and teaching them life skills as they worked alongside him on his homeplace in Plumerville and Petit Jean Mountain. Pallbearers are Witt Dumas, Greyson Dumas, James Dumas, Paul Dumas, Wes Garrett and Barry Stobaugh. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Franklin, Robert “Crash” Carruthers, Todd Session, Johnny Henson and Tommy White. Funeral services will be held at the Harris Chapel at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1st with Bro. Russell Rhoden officiating. Graveside to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31st at Harris Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Morrilton.
