Calvin Boyd "CB" Walker

Calvin Boyd Walker, or “CB” as he was known to his friends and family, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the age of 80. He was born December 17, 1941, in Plumerville, AR. C.B. was the son of Jack “Red” Walker and LaVelle (Deaver) Walker, both of whom preceded him in death. He had two brothers who also preceded him in death: Kevin Walker and Harold “Son” Walker. C.B. is survived by his wife Arlene (Joslin) Walker of Russellville, AR, as well as his four children: Grant Walker of Cabot, AR; Jason Walker of Arlington, TN; Josh Walker of Fayetteville, AR; and Marnie Sharp of Little Rock, AR. He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren: Cole Walker, Emma Kate Walker, Carson Walker, Miranda Walker, Seven Walker, Zea Walker, Lyric Walker, Eden Sharp, and Will Sharp. He also had two great-grandchildren: Alayna Walker and Taegan Walker. He is also survived by one brother, Anthony “Poss” Walker of Plumerville; Naomi Kincer of Irving, TX; Lucretia Flowers of Plumerville, AR; Gwyned Hill (Don) of Overcup, AR; and Arlianne (Butch) Martin of Solgohachia, AR. It would cost a fortune to list all his nieces and nephews, but he was basically related to half of Conway County, and he adored each of them. After high school, C.B. served in the Army and was deployed to Korea. When he returned home, he met and married the love of his life. They had three “hairy legged boys” in a row and then a daughter. C.B. was a deacon at Riverview Baptist Church for many years. He worked at Arkansas Kraft/Green Bay Packaging in Morrilton for over 40 years in the maintenance department as a top journeyman welder. When he retired, he was the longest-employed person to ever work for Green Bay Packaging. He loved working there and his coworkers were his family. When he was hired, he was one of the youngest there and was given the nickname “Kid” by his coworkers and many still called him that. C.B. had many talents. He could fix anything and build anything. He was an excellent cook and was known for his homemade buttermilk biscuits and his turnip greens. There was no bigger Razorback or Dallas Cowboy fan. No one dare talk badly about the Razorbacks in his presence. He was also a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. For many years, he fed his constantly hungry kids with the game he killed. He was a skilled hunter and he knew the Bible backwards and forwards. Most importantly, he was a man of God and his faith in Jesus never wavered. He led many people to Christ which will be his lasting legacy. His family is comforted in knowing that he is in heaven and free of his earthly burdens. Visitation is Thursday night from 6PM-8PM at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton. The funeral will be Friday at 2PM at Lonoke Baptist Church in Overcup, Arkansas, with Pastor Craig Duncan officiating. Interment will be at Plummerville Cemetery immediately following the funeral. Pallbearers: Cole Walker, Zea Walker, Seven Walker, Will Sharp, Carson Walker, Clint Walker, and Alan Walker. Honorary pallbearers: Charles Mozingo, Dewayne Miller, Roger Hern, Pete Grabher, and Bobby Walker.
