Brenda Sue Peacock Cahill

Brenda Sue Peacock Cahill, age 81, of Morrilton, Arkansas, left this earth on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. She was born March 31, 1943, to Sophie Pearl and Chesley King Peacock. She lived her childhood in Stuttgart with her mother, sisters, and stepfather, Chick Major. She graduated from Stuttgart High and attended Ark State Teachers College where she met Ira Don Cahill. They married in 1963 and lived in Pine Bluff, where she raised the loves of her life, David and Doug. She was the secretary for the principal of Pine Bluff High School and was deeply invested in the community. She never missed a ball game and was the team mom and boss for the many sports her boys played. She enjoyed serving in various capacities with assorted civic organizations including the Salvation Army Women’s Auxillary. She moved to Morrilton in 2006 to be more involved in her grandchildren’s lives, which she did in a big way. She quickly became a part of the community there, serving in many roles with the church and library. She was honored by the Morrilton Chamber of Commerce as Citizen of the Year in 2020. Her passion was the Dixie Mallard duck call, with which she won three Women's World Championships. After Chick passed, she and Don continued the legacy of producing the custom call for the next 48 years. With her sisters, she helped establish the Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Scholarship Calling Contest. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, and sister, Pat Peacock. She is survived by her sons, David King Cahill, wife Leslie and Douglas Manning Cahill, wife Amy; sisters, Dixie Major Holt (Eddie) and Gloria Peacock Beverburg (John). She had five grandchildren, Drew Cahill, Tyler Cahill (Lauren), Collin Cahill (Marisa), Carson and Sophie Cahill. She had five bonus grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. The apples of her eye were the great-grandchildren, Briggs and Alexandria Cahill. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, at the First United Methodist Church in Morrilton with Pastor Bill Sardin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service, at the church. The graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, at Memorial Park Cemetery in White Hall, Arkansas.
