Barbara Ann Tindell

Barbara Ann Tindell, 67, of Houston, crossed over the river into the arms of Jesus, May 19, 2009. She was a faithful member of Union Valley Southern Baptist Church, and a sweet singer for the Lord. Barbara was a Christian Lady who always put the needs of others before her own. She had a lot of pain and grief in her life, she always trusted that Jesus would carry her through and he did. Barbara was a kind hearted Lady who tried to help any way. She was a Sunday School Teacher, volunteered for the blood mobile, and baked thousands of cupcakes as a room mother when her kids where in school. She contributed to many charities more than she could afford, she loved cooking, gardening, crocheting, fishing, and especially singing. She faithfully made and maintained the songbooks for the group her lovely voice can never be replaced. She was proud of her Native American Heritage Choctaw Cherokee and Creek. She always tried to help her people all she could, she had a strong grip and had a bear hug that could crush your ribs when Barbara hugged you, you knew you had been hugged. Barbara was born October 2, 1941 near Rogers, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Edgar Grimes and Viola Fields Grimes. She leaves behind her loving husband, John V. Tindell; mother, Viola Grimes of Avoca; daughter, Susan Leggitt (Paul) of Houston; son, Odis Newman (Bindy) of Archer City, Texas; two brothers, James Grimes (Bobbie), and Tony Grimes (Debbie; sister, Pamela Meeker (Charley); six grandchildren, Tabbitha Leggitt, James Leggitt, Jessica Leggit, Holly and Alicia Newman, and Cheyenne Newman; nine great-grandchildren, Courtney, Jeremy, Aaron, Cody, Colby, Jacob and Joshua, Arianna and Alejandro; nieces, Jody James, Cassie Grimes, Tammy and Tina Grimes; nephews, Matthew Grimes, Roger Meeker and Sam Meeker. She is preceded in death by her father, Edgar Grimes; sister, Linda Crawford, and her granddaughter, Barbara Rose "Cissy" Leggitt. Barbara was the best wife, lover, and friend that her husband John could ever hope to have. Her passing will leave a hole in the hearts of all who love her that can never be healed till we see her bright brown eyes full of love once again on the other side of the river. Goodbye my little bear, I'll meet you over there, your loving husband, John. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at Union Valley Southern Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
